PancakeSwap is a (BSC) Binance Smart Chain-powered DEX and AMM that allows anyone to swap BEP-20 tokens efficiently and safely. PancakeSwap is the largest Decentralized App (Dapp) on the Binance Smart Chain and is seen by many as a project with endless potential. PancakeSwap uses an automated market maker (AMM) model. This means that while a user can trade digital assets on the platform, there is not any order book where the user is matched with someone else. Instead, user trades against a liquidity pool. This reduces a slippage problem.
While at first it looks similar to Uniswap or SushiSwap, it is actually different as it allows the users to launch their own projects in the BSC community. By using the power of yield farming, users can launch their tokens in the most active pools and receive rewards for it. Apart from enhancing features similar to other food-theme protocols, PancakeSwap offers an effective user interface and options like NFT rewards, lottery, farming, staking in addition to other DEXes. It supports MetaMask, Trust Wallet, TokenPocket, MathWallet, and WalletConnect. The rising prices and congestion on Ethereum make it possible for PancakeSwap to increase the possibility of adoption in the foreseeable future adoption for the foreseeable future.
PancakeSwap farmers can lock up their LP tokens and earn further rewards in the process. When using PancakeSwap, traders pay a 0.2% fee. Of this fee, 0.17% is allocated to liquidity providers (LPs) while the remaining 0.03% is burned by PancakeSwap Treasury. As of April 2021, there are 50 different liquidity pools where users can stake and earn yields that range from 58.03% to 134.47% APY for supplying the pools with liquidity. Based on 30,000 blocks per day, the emission for fees on PancakeSwap amounts to approximately 750,000 daily Pancake token (CAKE) rewards. Of this, 60% goes to farmers. Holders of the CAKE token receive 40% of the rewards per block. With future governance proposals however, these rates could change.
The team though unkown, includes of two persons who have been given aliases, i.e, Hops, PancakeSwap Co-lead and Thumper, PancakeSwap Co-lead.
